As we celebrate 150 years we reflect on the extraordinary vision, generosity and commitment that brought our School to life.
The story of TGS began with a community united by a shared belief in the power of education and the transformative role it plays in shaping lives.
In 1874, local businessman Mr Samuel George Stephens, alongside the Hon. James Taylor and other visionary leaders, rallied the community to establish a Grammar School in Toowoomba. Through their generosity and unwavering determination, they secured the funds necessary to gain government support, establishing the foundation of a school that has remained a pillar of excellence for generations.
Today, we build on their vision and dedication.
As we honour their legacy, we turn to our community once again to secure the future of TGS for generations to come. Just as philanthropy built our School, it remains the key to its future.

Donors have the option to make a one-off tax-deductible donation or spread their contributions over five years, with complete flexibility regarding the amount donated each year. They simply need to inform TGS of their intended donation amount each year to fulfil their pledge.
